Sodium Benzoate is white crystalline grain or powder. It is widely used for food preservative produced by reaction from sodium hydroxide with benzoic acid. Sodium Benzoate is a better molds and yeasts inhibitor and since acidity foods grow bacteria, mold and yeast quickly, it is cheapest way to preserve them.
1)As the preservative, mainly use in fruit juice, drug, toothpaste, soft drink etc.
2)Also used as raw material of dye intermediate, paint synthesis, plasticizer and flavors.
3)It is also used in the manufacture of alkyd resins and drilling mud additive for crude oil recovery applications.
